So You’re Going To
An Herbalist
“He causeth the
grass to grow for the cattle, and herbs for the
service of man” Psalm
104:14
Herbalists can be as
different as “chalk and cheese”, to use a British expression. One may specialize in the
culinary aspects of herbs and spices, another in their cosmetic
properties while yet another goes to fields and forests, foraging
roots, identifying and categorizing.
What is a
Master
Herbalist?
The
Master Herbalist focuses on the medicinal constituents of
herbs and how they assist the body in functioning harmoniously. Drawing from scientific
study, centuries of historical use and personal experience and
observation, the Master Herbalist does not diagnose or prescribe but helps
one to understand how certain plants’ medicinal properties may
benefit their medically diagnosed
problem.
One of the greatest
truths about holistic healing is that the body is designed to heal
itself. Therefore,
regardless of where one seeks expert information, the responsibility
for health and wellness must remain with the individual. To facilitate one’s journey
into healing plants the Master Herbalist may recommend helpful foods and give
workshops in addition to private
consultations.
The health of the body
depends upon the health of the
colon.
A well-known adage in
natural healing circles is: “The health of the body depends upon the
health of the colon.” A
concern about acne, for example, would have the
Master Herbalist questioning colon function as well as food
and drug intake, to better understand how this person’s body is
handling the evacuation of toxic material. A poorly functioning colon,
retaining toxic waste, allows the blood to circulate those poisons
throughout the body, further stressing the liver as well as one of
the largest eliminative organs, the skin. Blood, liver and
colon-cleansing herbs, therefore, would be called for. The client is taught to view
the medically diagnosed skin problem from the outside in and the
inside out, looking at the use of medicinal herbs to cleanse,
nourish and heal skin as well as the body’s internal
workings.
Botanicals vs
pharmaceuticals
A primary concern may be
to alleviate symptoms, as in the pain of an ulcer. Simultaneously, the inner
ecology must be addressed.
The benefit of medicinal herbs vs. pharmaceutical drugs is
demonstrated in how allopathic medicine views the stress of an
ulcer. A well known
drug for ulcers is considered, in the lingo of the pharmaceutical
industry, a “perfect drug” because not only is it expensive, it also
has a high relapse rate (92%).
Thus, the patient develops dependency because there is a high
probability of the ulcer’s recurrence without the
drug.
The herbalist will help
one look at food intake as well as therapeutic plants to alleviate
pain, soothe, nourish and heal the digestive tract without risk of
side effect.
Gentle enough for
children
Parents interested in
protocols for cold/flu prevention, bronchitis and chronic ear
infections find a wealth of information in the herbalist’s
teachings. Gentle,
non-toxic botanicals may be used to stimulate the immune system,
soothe a sore throat, expectorate lungs, decongest. Food avoidance may be
addressed as certain foods are mucus-producing and congesting to
bodily functions. Given
a medical diagnosis, an educated parent is empowered to take charge
of the child’s wellness in a way that harmonizes the vital processes
of the body. A parent’s
herbal ministerings can even soothe a youngster’s dis-ease until he
or she is seen by the pediatrician.
Taking the best of all
worlds
Integrated medicine,
taking the best of both worlds, is a sensible approach. Combining medical diagnostic
techniques with the synergistic, biochemical benefits of plant
formulas can effectively strengthen an ailing body. When allopathic
medicine is deemed necessary, herbs can support the system and
cleanse residual toxins post-therapy.
Herbs may be used to
address emotional as well as physical healing of the body, further
supporting the concept of body/mind/spirit holism. Upon visiting a
Master Herbalist, you will begin creating your own personal
healing manual, stocking an herbal medicine chest and may forever
change your outlook towards “noxious” weeds.

Natural Approaches to
Asthma
For some, asthma can be life threatening. The
same toxins that cause eczema in one person, or sinus congestion in
another, can cause the breathing tubes to constrict in someone so
genetically predisposed. Skin and sinus issues are
uncomfortable, but a fight for breath can be
terrifying. If the asthma requires medication, perhaps
you can keep it to a minimum by combining it with natural
approaches. There are five basic challenges to the
person with asthma: 1. Environmental toxins 2. Food
intolerance 3. Emotional stress 4. Physical exertion 5.
Infection ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS CAN BE
TRIGGERS §
Recirculated air in malls, airplanes, office
buildings §
Unclean filters used in home or office air conditioners, air
purifiers, and heating
systems. § Pollen
and mold spores §
High ozone counts; “bad air” days; smog; factory air
pollution §
Cleaning products (home, office, and laundry). Restaurants
often allow staff to clean floors and tabletops while you are
dining--watch
out! § Chemicals
in newly purchased, unlaundered clothing and
linens § Dust in
the home (check curtains, carpeting, stuffed animals--behind, above,
and below
everything) §
Fragrances (perfumed samples in magazines, fragranced
products) §
Classroom threats (paint, chalk, newspaper ink, naptime bedding,
marking pens) §
Exhaust fumes from autos and
machinery §
Chlorine in swimming pools and cleaning
products § Damp,
musty bedding and
clothing §
Houseplant mold §
Outdoor barbecue fumes;
fireplaces §
Beauty salon
chemicals §
Cigarette/cigar/pipe
smoke § Animal
dander and feathers; feather pillows, down comforters and
jackets If this makes you want to hide in a
padded cell, then at least be sure the padding has been washed in
natural detergent! In addition to aggressively keeping your
home free of environmental toxins, an air purifier/ionizer can
significantly help to cleanse the air of fungus, bacteria, and
chemical odors. In his book, How to Grow Fresh Air: 50
Houseplants that Purify Your Home or Office (Penguin), retired NASA
research scientist, Dr. Bill Wolverton, discusses houseplants to
purify your environment. Plants are not just visual treats but
nature’s living air purifiers! For those with mold
sensitivity, take note: plant-filled rooms contain 50-60% fewer
airborne molds and bacteria than rooms without plants.
FOOD
INTOLERANCE A sensitivity to certain foods may
or may not be the primary cause of the asthma, but it can certainly
exacerbate it. Dairy is the number one food to be avoided
since it is a mucus-producing and mucus-thickening food, and the
asthmatic is already challenged by an excess of thickened mucus.
Perhaps certain foods should be avoided during pollen season so
there is better tolerance to the unavoidable exposure to airborne
pollens. See the chapter on food testing in my book, Gentle
Healing for Baby and Child (Simon & Schuster), as well as other
natural recommendations. Beware of food additives,
especially sulfites and MSG. Monosodium glutamate can be
hidden in food products under the label “hydrolized protein” and
“flavorings.” Sulfites are often found in commercially
prepared salads and dried fruits. Look for “unsulfured” dried
fruits in the health food store.
EMOTIONAL
STRESS §
Meditation techniques relax the body and mind. Visualizations
can help imagine the airways opening. These are effective
tools used by corporate executives, sports figures, and cancer
patients. Many books have been written about these techniques,
and conventional medical practitioners are adding them to prescribed
health programs.
§ Focused
breathwork is a technique that can strengthen the lungs and teach
you how to breathe more effectively.
§ Bach Flower
Essences can help you deal with ongoing emotional challenges.
An individualized formula can be created for specific needs.
(Consult the Holistic Resource Network Directory, available free at
many health food stores and libraries, for holistic practitioners
who practice therapies mentioned in this
article). §
Valerian, passionflower, lemon balm and hops are the ingredients in
herbal formulas that nourish and calm the nervous
system. PHYSICAL EXERTION: FEED THE ADRENAL
GLANDS Many experience exercise-induced asthma
with physically challenging activities. The stress-sensitive
adrenal glands, when exhausted, can cause a drain on the bronchials,
inducing
wheezing. §
Licorice root helps rid the bronchials of excess mucus by supplying
a natural form of cortisone, an anti-inflammatory substance, which
also feeds the adrenal glands. Give a dose of the liquid extract of
licorice root just before physical activity.
§ Sugar depletes
the adrenals. Keep it out of the diet as much as possible and
especially before physical activity. Beware of sugar laden
sports drinks! §
Be sure the body is well hydrated (with water) before and during
physical activity.
§ Chiropractic
adjustments can have a beneficial effect on adrenal function, as
well as strengthen the lung
area. § Magnesium
relaxes smooth muscles, and vitamin C helps stabilize the body’s own
chemicals that may act as triggers; this is a winning combination
before physical exertion. INFECTION
PREVENTION When an asthmatic gets a cold, you
can usually count on it moving into the chest. Check out the
herbs echinacea and garlic for cold and flu prevention because, in
preventing a cold, you’ve effectively prevented another asthma
attack. NATURAL APPROACHES TO
ASTHMATIC
ATTACKS §
Breathe Easy tea by Traditional Medicinals contains herbs that help
stop wheezing. To prepare, steep the tea bag for 15-20
minutes, covered, in a cup of boiled
water. § Dr.
Christopher’s Resp-Free formula, available in capsules or liquid,
helps clear the lung area of mucus, is anti-spasmodic, and
anti-inflammatory. (Email me if you can’t locate
it). § Hot
lemonade helps thin mucus and relaxes spasms. Prepare this to
taste with freshly squeezed lemons (not commercially prepared lemon
juice!), hot water, and
honey. §
Homeopathic remedies specifically designed for your constitution can
be helpful in alleviating asthma. Consult a homeopathic
physician for best results.
§ Apple cider
vinegar and honey helps restore pH (acid/alkaline balance) which can
be helpful in stopping wheezing. Combine a tablespoon of apple
cider vinegar with a teaspoon of honey; mix with ½ cup warm
water. Sip this mixture when in
distress. §
Valerian, blue cohosh, and lobelia are excellent anti-spasmodic
herbs. Combine liquid extracts of these herbs during an
attack. Based on an adult dose of about 40 drops of the
combined herbs, dose according to weight: a 150 pound adult would
get the full dose while a 50 pound child would get 1/3 the
dose. Start with equal parts valerian and blue cohosh, then
add just a few drops of lobelia, a powerful anti-spasmodic.
(Important: be careful not to overdose lobelia, which could cause
vomiting but acts as a catalyst to the other herbs.) A dose of
this combination, diluted in a little water or juice, can be given
every 15 minutes during an asthma attack. The natural
approach to asthma does not mean immediately withdrawing medication.
Instead, introduce these natural therapies concurrent with asthma
medicines. As these therapies strengthen the bronchial/lung
area, less of the medication may be required and, with the guidance
of your physician, can be slowly tapered off, replaced by the safe,
natural supports. Eventually, by further strengthening the
lungs and immune system, by eliminating poorly tolerated foods, and
managing environmental issues, you will be able to withdraw even
these natural supports. You may find the natural
approach to asthma management a bit overwhelming at first.
That’s understandable, since we are accustomed to the “silver
bullet” approach: let a magic pill do all the work. Take it
one step at a time, make changes gradually, and you will find
encouragement in the positive results. Copyright 2002

My Unique Approach To Lyme Disease
LYME DISEASE: AN INTEGRATED
APPROACH
Named for
the town of East
Lyme, CT, where the disease was first
identified, a Lyme infected tick, as it feeds off its human host,
passes a bacteria known as a spirochete into the bloodstream.
The
conventional medical approach is to treat the Lyme disease with
antibiotics. When a child or adult is quickly treated with an
appropriate antibiotic, the result is usually a swift and positive
healing. However, if
the person does not recover with the first round of antibiotic,
additional rounds are routinely prescribed, often leading to
“antibiotic cocktails.”
Long-term antibiotic therapy can result in an imbalance of
micro-organisms in the intestinal tract and deplete the functioning
of the immune system, making the body more susceptible to other
illnesses. Consider
taking the best of both conventional and holistic medical practices
by integrating natural remedies with antibiotic therapy. They can help keep the body
strong while the antibiotic does its
job.
Researchers still puzzled
In many cases of chronic Lyme,
medical researchers cannot understand why symptoms persist when
intensive testing fails to reveal signs of the Lyme bacteria in
blood or spinal fluid. In a New York Times article, they reportedly
account for these symptoms by assuming that Lyme has led to
autoimmune dysfunction without considering that the tick may have
passed more than just bacteria into
its human host. In my
client population, I have found the majority of long-term Lyme cases
complicated by viral co-infections.
Common scenario of
infection
A common scenario is for a tick to feed upon a
dog, picking up a strain of parvo virus; feed upon a mouse, picking
up a strain of hanta virus; feed upon a deer, picking up the
spirochete, and then feeding upon the human passing a spirochete
piggybacked by viruses. Doctors are now discovering bartonella
bacteria piggybacking the spirochete. Bartonella is cat
scratch fever - likely picked up by the tick feeding on a cat.
If the tick can pick up a bacteria from a cat, why not viruses from
dogs and mice? It is also possible for the tick to pass
neuroviruses picked up from other wildlife and pass them into the
central nervous system of the human host.
The integrated
approach
When my son had Lyme disease, blood tests
confirmed that it was accompanied by the virulent bacteria,
ehrlichiosis, and his doctor immediately put him on an
antibiotic. Of course, I gave him probiotics and echinacea as
described below. However, since antibiotics do not treat viruses,
rather than waiting to see if one round of antibiotics would bring
him to total recovery, I tested him for viruses, using
kinesiology. I gave him natural remedies that specifically
addressed the particular strains of virus that commonly piggyback
the spirochete and for which he tested positively. When
children and adults do not fully and quickly recover with a round of
antibiotics, it may be because viruses are also involved. They
do, however, respond to natural remedies designed to address the
specific viruses and can be given along with antibiotics - without
interfering with each other.
If your Lyme disease is not responding well to the
antibiotics alone, or you have been suffering with chronic Lyme
disease, in spite of long-term antibiotic therapy, you may wish to
consult with a health practitioner who is familiar with the viruses
that are known to attach themselves to the ticks that transfer this
disease.
Increasing good
bacteria
Friendly
bacteria and yeast micro-organisms live harmoniously in the
intestinal tract.
The antibiotic does not differentiate between beneficial
and harmful bacteria and, in its quest to go after the “bad guys”,
may deplete the “good guys” located in the intestinal tract. When
the level of good bacteria is depleted, yeast, regularly kept in
check by the “good guys”, has an opportunity to grow out of
control. Yeast
overgrowth can cause a variety of symptoms such as bloating, gas,
itching, sugar cravings, brain fog, mouth sores, headaches, weight
gain, mood swings, depression, and extreme
fatigue.
Acidophilus and other probiotic, active bacterial
cultures in yogurt (plain yogurt without added sugar, as sugar feeds
yeast) help to bring balance to the intestinal flora by repopulating
the area with good bacteria.
Probiotics are available in capsules, liquid and tablet form,
and are best taken three times a day, one hour before or after the
dose of antibiotic, and continuing for at least three weeks, three
times a day, following the antibiotic therapy. Making the last dose
of the day right before bedtime helps the good bacteria have a
chance to grow unimpeded overnight.
Immune
support
Echinacea,
known to gardeners as the purple coneflower, is a popular, non-toxic
herb easily found in health food stores. It helps to support an
immune system which can become depleted by antibiotic use. Although
it is available in tea and capsule form, the liquid alcohol extract
of echinacea is the most potent and effective form of the herb, safe
for adults and children alike (except for those with autoimmune
disease). One teaspoon,
diluted in a little bit of water or juice, taken three times a day,
can accompany the antibiotic therapy (see my book, Gentle Healing
for Baby and Child (Simon & Schuster), for dosing
instructions for children).
To further strengthen the immune system, continue taking the
echinacea for a few weeks after the antibiotic is finished. Cycling it for 10 days on
and 4 days off will keep your body from becoming resistant to its
benefits and give you an additional immune-stimulating boost each
time you go back on it.
People often feel weakened coming off an extended therapy of
antibiotics. Supporting
the body’s immune system will help them to feel stronger when the
therapy is finished.
Reducing sugar
intake
Bacteria
and viruses feed on sugar so it would be a good idea to reduce sugar
intake. Desserts should be limited to low sugar fruits like
strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Keep in mind that many fresh
and dried fruits, and fruit juice, like banana, raisins and apple
juice have a high sugar content. This would be a good time to
eliminate junk foods and eat health promoting foods like
pesticide-free vegetables, antibiotic-free chicken, fish, grains,
organic eggs, and nuts, so as not to pose any additional challenges
to the body. Check with
your local health food stores and organic produce departments in
supermarkets for the best choices.
Protection against tick
bites
The
safe, natural way to prevent tick bites is with the essential oil of
eucalyptus, found at the health food store. The strong but pleasant
smell seems to effectively repel the ticks. There are three ways to use
this aromatic oil.
1.
In a spray bottle, add 16oz
water to 1oz eucalyptus oil.
Spray on the skin before an outdoor activity, like
gardening. The bottled
mixture remains potent for many months.
2.
For longer protection, such as
a hike in the woods, mix 10 drops eucalyptus into ½ ounce almond or
sunflower seed oil and apply to skin and clothing. A larger amount can be
pre-mixed for a camping trip or for sending off with a child to
summer camp.
3.
Protect your dogs and cats
from ticks and you will also be protecting yourself! Some people never touch a
blade of grass yet get Lyme disease and wonder why. Your pet may be transporting
the ticks into the house.
Dip a thin rope into the eucalyptus oil and wrap in a
bandana. Tie the
bandana around your pet’s neck, refreshing the rope twice a
week. Your pet will
look fashionable and be protected at the same time! It is best not to tie the
eucalyptus rope directly onto your pet’s skin as it may cause
irritation. The spray
bottle of eucalyptus and water may also be used to spray your pet’s
coat before an outdoor romp in the grass or in the
woods.
Choosing
the pleasures of country life over city life means we must learn to
cohabit with nature harmoniously. The fewer chemicals we use
internally and externally will mean safer groundwater and air,
healthier bodies, and a reverence for life around
us.

The Science of Vibrational
Healing
In
the history of natural healing, first there were herbs, then came
homeopathy and now there are vibrational formulas. All work well when you have
knowledge of how to apply them.
Vibrational healing is a blending of research in the
fields of microbiology and alternative medicine. Using the large body of
science on pathogens and their effects on the body, plus the
principles of homeopathy, vibrational formulas are a uniquely
effective means to completely eliminate diseases.
Many
of the formulas are based on miasms, the weaknesses in our bodies
inherited from the illnesses of our ancestors. Miasms are the basis of all
chronic diseases and appear in electrical form on the DNA. When a remedy is based on a
miasm, there are a series of realizations and benefits that can
occur. If, for example, 12 bottles are needed of a particular
formula, the first third of the bottles yields benefits in the
physical body. In the
second third, we start to add the mental/emotional value when we
begin to recognize patterns that need changing. In the third part, we
perceive issues from a more spiritual perspective. In very
individualistic ways we put the patterns and lessons together by the
end of the 12 bottles.
You need the full 12 or so bottles of the remedy to get the
full physical result, the full mental result and the full spiritual
result because they are all connected in the harmonic hologram of
the body.
Whereas chronic diseases are defined as growing
steadily worse almost no matter what is done, the science of
vibrational healing disproves the definition and, for most people,
can completely reverse disease for the rest of their
lives.
Vibrational formulas are well-known as incapable of
harming a person. It is
true they may sometimes help a person heal faster than is
comfortable, but that is easily compensated for by taking less of
the remedy for a while. There is a finite time period to reverse the
cause of the disease and then the remedies are no longer
needed. Upon
completion, when the offending miasms are nullified, the body starts
to reconstruct itself.
In most instances, the body part(s) affected start getting
better and fully heal.
There are no toxic materials or dangerous side effects – just
electrical frequencies, water and alcohol (to hold the
vibration).
Notable success has been achieved with allergies,
asthma, chronic fatigue syndromes, candida, colitis, Crohn’s,
diabetes, diverticulitis, emphysema, eczema, genital herpes, gluten
intolerance, heart diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, leukemias
(multiple forms), leaky gut, Lyme disease, lupus, migraines, teeth
and gum issues, psoriasis, scoliosis, and much
more.
The
use of vibrational formulas has allowed discoveries unheard of in
current science: a virus proved to be the basis of most all phobias,
compulsions, obsessions.
One new virus family is proving to be the basis for excessive
weight with protocols now under
development.
With
thousands of people healed in over a dozen countries, the word is
slowly spreading. One
woman took the remedies for osteoporosis 4 years ago. Subsequently, she had an
auto accident where she was thrown out of the car and its full
weight pinned both her legs for 45 minutes. At the hospital, the x-ray
technician became very excited when the x-rays showed that not only
were the legs not shattered, they weren’t even broken. She brought everybody who
knew how to read x-rays into the viewing room to see what they had
never seen before from such a severe accident. The program of remedies the
woman had previously completed had helped the bones to not only
repair the osteoporosis, but to strongly rebuild themselves.
This
is a relatively new approach to healing built on solid systems of
the past. It may take
longer but it builds a stronger body. It may cost more for a short
time, but you won’t need maintenance drugs to stay better. The remedies are designed to
get in, get the job finished and then let your body function as it
was originally designed to work and to rebuild itself.
Our non-invasive methods of analysis find more issues than
you knew were brewing.
We believe each person is an individual and design our
programs that way.
We think aging is a
series of sicknesses that can be reversed. Would you like to live a
long life if you can be more
healthy than you are now?
Can you stick with a program of taking drops 2-3x/day
for a year to accomplish these
goals? How many issues
do you want to correct?
We have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as
incurable disease. It
has been proven with many of the above diseases and research continues. The people who take the
program are 95% satisfied.
Our most basic question to each
person is, “Do you want to heal?” We can help. (Healers Who Share, a group
of independent health
consultants based in the U.S.,
Canada,
Norway and the European Union).

"No Deer, Not Tonight" An Herbal Deer
Discourager
A new perennial garden. Challenging to plan. Expensive to put in. Each morning I
checked to see how the plants were
growing. Fertilize,
weed, stake, prune. How heartwarming to see a
bud about to open.
Perhaps the very next morning it w will show its face to the
sun.
Excitedly, I run out at 6 am
to see what it looks like.
But what’s this…it’s gone! All the buds have been
eaten. DEER! They beat me to it. I did all the work to
nurture the seedling to maturity
and they came during the night to
feast…uninvited. To add insult to injury,
they bit off some flower heads,
decided they were unsavory, and
left them to wither.
Sound familiar?
Deer…a beautiful family of five lives in my
backyard. They’re
welcome to feast on whatever nature provides. But not my herbs and
flowers! Lately,
they'’e even more unwelcome because of the potentially
infected deer ticks they leave
behind. I
tried to keep them away by spraying
with chemical deer repellants.
But I didn’t know what was more deadly: deer ticks or the
chemical fumes from the commercial products.
I studied what
it was the deer seemed to like
best. Sweet, young,
juicy leaves, and buds (although when desperate, they seem to eat
most anything!) I began
experimenting with herbs, testing, reformulating, until I came up
with “NO DEER, NOT TONIGHT!”
“NO DEER, NOT TONIGHT!” is a SAFE, EASY TO USE
AND EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE way of keeping the deer away from shrubs,
flowers, herbs and vegetables.
The addition of an essential oil helps to adhere the product
to the area sprayed until a heavy
rain washes it off.
When used as
directed, “NO DEER, NOT TONIGHT!”
will allow you to enjoy the fruits of your
labor.
I spray it on with a pump sprayer bought in any hardware
store. If you get too
close to the area you are spraying and find the product makes you
sneeze or cough, it’s just the fresh potency of the herbs at
work. The quart bottle,
when mixed with water, as
indicated on the label, yields 3
quarts of product.
If you have any
questions or would like to purchase
more for yourself or a neighbor (perhaps the deer are paying
more attention to their juicy morsels now that they find yours less
tasty!), please do contact me.

Herbal Detox Program
All of the herbs used are non-toxic, non-habit forming
and non-poisonous. The
program is designed to cleanse kidneys, bladder, liver, colon and
bloodstream. By
detoxifying all of these organs in concert, you should feel
increased vitality rather than the weakness often experienced with
detoxification programs.
Drink lots of water!
The following formulas are encapsulated, dehydrated
herbs, therefore they must be ingested with large amounts of water
to rehydrate them.
Distilled water has been found to enhance the herbs’
effectiveness by up to 30% over tap or spring
water.
A
minimum of ten 8oz glasses of water (room temperature is best)
should be taken each day to assist flushing of toxins. If heartburn should develop
shortly after taking capsules, it just means you haven’t taken them
with enough water.
Eat healthfully!
A
healthful plan of eating should be adhered to. The ideal would be a
“mucusless” diet consisting of vegetables, grains, fruits, nuts and
seeds (avoiding dairy and meat).
Do
the best you can! You
will develop a comfortable rhythm within a few
days.
The program is written in its ideal form in terms of
the timing of doses.
The important thing to remember is not to stress yourself
over the taking of the capsules. This would be
counterproductive.
Prepare a simplified schedule on an index card and follow it
as best you can.
Most of the formulas can be combined except for
Barberry LG and Red Clover Combination. Separate their intake by
approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Colon 8
Cleanser
It
is best to begin with 10days of Colon 8, a powdered formula
designed to cleanse and nourish the colon area. This will pave the way for
an easier time of detoxification in that the colon will be cleansed
and ready to properly perform the function it was meant to do:
elimination of waste material from the body.
Follow the directions on the package, replacing the
water with half water and half pineapple juice (for flavor). It is best prepared in a
screw-top jar, shaken and had immediately, before it has a chance to
settle and thicken.
Dr.
John
R. Christoper’s Herbal
Detoxification Program
FEN LB (lower bowel) This is not a
laxative but a formula designed to cleanse, nourish
and rebuild the colon
area. If diarrhea
occurs and persists beyond 3 days, reduce dose either by
taking one capsule or eliminating morning dose. Continue taking until
Barberry LG is finished.
2 capsules AM
2
capsules PM
BARBERRY
LG
(liver/gallbladder cleanser and tonic) Take ½ hour before
meals. If queasiness is
experienced, take with meals.
Finish all bottles.
3-4 capsules
2-3 times a day
JUNI-PARS
(kidney/bladder cleanser)
Take mid-morning and mid-afternoon
– not at night! This
formula may cause you to urinate
more often and more fully.
Take for two weeks
Remainder can be used as a diuretic when
needed (eg water retention
with PMS, salty foods, etc.)
2-3 capsules 2 times a
day
